If you are looking for experience in the cycling industry, we just can’t be beat. George Garner has been a part of the cycling industry since 1947 when he opened his first bike shop in southern California. He quickly became one of the nation’s top bike dealers and was recognized as such by the Schwinn bicycle company. So much so that they asked him to come on as a consultant who would be responsible for shaping their dealer network. In 1964 we opened our first location in Illinois, the model store in Northbrook. We’ve been in Libertyville since 1977, and Lake Zurich since 1980.

We can put you on the right bike for your purposes. We are a full service bike shop, and carry everything you need to make the most of your cycling experience. Our salespeople are not commissioned. We will sell you only what you need and make suggestions based on your criteria not ours.

Every new bike from George Garner Cyclery is assembled by full-time, experienced, professional mechanics. George Garner Cyclery has some of the most experienced people in the industry. Some of our mechanics have over 30 years of bike knowledge.

Sprinters Dream Omnium #2
Saturday June 22nd

The Saturday Sprinters Dream Omnium series is one of our most popular events. Started by resident sprinter, co-race director, and all-around good guy, Josh Ryan, this event offers a low-key and laid back environment designed around everything sprinters love. The day starts out with flying 200 m TTs for seeding and then racers are subdivided into groups based on those times. You will sprint against people of your similar ability in a round robin format so you can get the most out of the day. We end the day with 2 short, sprint focused mass start events.

This event is run under our ATRA permit, you do not need a USA Cycling license to participate! Everyone is welcome! Track bikes required.

Entry: $15 online at registration.erv.veloreg.com
Prizes: Bragging rights and experience

Racing begins at 9:30 AM. Racing usually runs to about 2 or 3 pm, depending on turnout.

Dates: 5/18, 6/22, 7/20
No rain dates
Open to all racers
USAC license is NOT required

The Northbrook Cycle Committee (NCC) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization comprised of volunteers who act as guardians of the track on behalf of the facility, its ridership, and its community. While the NCC does not actually own the velodrome, it does lay claim to the rich legacy of racing and rider development for which this velodrome has been long renowned, from a local to regional to international level. The NCC's role is to maintain this legacy through partnering with the Northbrook Park District to promote the benefits of track cycling, enrich the lives of those who participate in our program, and empower others to make a positive contribution to this sport.
