Northbrook Park District's
2026 Youth Cycling Program
****This program is run by the Northbrook Park District, more details here: https://anc.apm.activecommunities.com/nbparks/activity/search/detail/22899
The Northbrook Park District offers young athletes interested in competitive cycling an opportunity to focus on training and skills. This is not a learn-to-ride program. Young athletes will focus on training and skills on Wednesday and compete in races on Fridays. Wednesday's trainings cover fitness, bike handling skills, and safety related to racing. Races are both team and individual competitions, with riders assigned to teams every week. The coaching staff will determine race assignments, types, distances, and handicaps. Participation on both Wednesday and Friday is highly encouraged. Coaches will evaluate riders based on riding skill and lap times to assign appropriate group levels. Evaluation continues throughout the season. No class 7/3, 7/24
